Welcome to the NEW Haberdashery!

I am excited to be the new LAH3 haberdasher. Personally, I don’t carry much cash on me, so I wanted to put the haberdashery online for people like me. Yes, we still take cash, potentially cryptocurrency, and now plastic!

As a native Angelino, in 2017, I decided to try an experiment and live carless in LA. GASP! Yes, I’ll accept rides from friends and strangers (mostly the ride-sharing variety), but my main impetus was to start walking & cycling around my neighborhood. Without a vehicle to carry ALL the merchandise, I’ll bring the merchandise to the next LAH3 event when you order online.

How did I get involved with the Los Angeles Hash House Harriers? I was first introduced to LAH3 by I Don’t Give An F on Dia De Los Muertos. She was laying trail that day, so I didn’t see much of her. She told me to look for a group of people drinking beer when I arrived at the starting location.

I took the gold line to East LA and walked to the Evergreen Cemetery. Well, little did I know that on Dia De Los Muertos, lots of people are barbecuing and drinking beer on cemetery grounds. After a few strange looks and some free beers from some homies, I found a group of people in running gear drinking beer. Ahhh… I found them! I arrived just in time to have a beer with more friendly strangers.

There was a chalk talk for my benefit, and soon we were off running. I pride myself on knowing Los Angeles, but I discovered parts of the city I never knew existed during this hash. I love scavenger hunts, so I had a blast looking for clues to the next tasty beverage! At the end of the day, my FitBit said I logged in over 16 miles! WOW!

During the Covid-19 pandemic, I started exploring my local neighborhood on long walks throughout the city. I reconnected with I Don’t Give An F, and I started hashing again. Zoom JackBox parties and the LAH3 kept me sane throughout the pandemic. On March 6, 2021, I highlighted my favorite neighborhood vistas when I laid the trail for the first time. Thank you, I Don’t Give An F for making jello shots and making my first time so fun!

When I look around the circle at the hash, I no longer see strangers; I see friends! Thank you to everyone for being so welcoming to the friends I have been bringing. Thank you for entrusting me with this new role, and once again, thank you, I Don’t Give An F for introducing me to the Hash House Harriers. A special shout-out to PotHo, Damien & Trail Head for your haberdashery tips!

I hope to serve you well in my new role running the haberdashery!

Cheers,

Big Bad Burrito Daddy
